Transition Review

Fitting right into the teen drama genre, the new Silver Linings Production show, Transition is the new gritty teen drama by Jamie Brittain, airing on E4 tomorrow night at 8pm...
The show’s main focus is of a teen named Mollie Jones (Antonia Thomas, better known as Alisha in Misfits) and her struggles of trying to break free from a notorious gang in her area and starting fresh on a scholarship at a top end school. Transition features many issues and ideologies that teens across the UK will face in a day to day life. There is a typical Break-Up scene shown in the first 5 minutes of the show as Mollie ends a relationship with her boyfriend for cheating on her ex. A typical broken family life is also portrayed
Director and Producer, Jamie Brittain, sat down to chat with us to tell us about the new show. “People are just expecting another version of Skins with Transition because they know I worked closely on Skins, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Transition is new, fresh and gritty – extremely gritty. As it's pre-watershed, it's more down to earth and real, because I sometimes think that with post watershed shows that they can sometimes over dramatise them with the use of drugs and alcohol, which is why I personally believe that Transition will realte more to teens in today's society." Brittain is not lying. This new show is very current and up to date. With a brand new concept of gang culture, this show instantly makes captures the audience's attention and makes them want more.
